Design and Process Automation
Cross-market coordination and communication
When scale is the brief, most companies add people. We add flow.
Storytel, a global leader in audiobooks and e-books, was expanding at a pace few companies experience. Thousands of creative assets needed to move seamlessly across multiple international markets, demanding speed, precision, and flexibility.
Our role was to partner with Storytel to design a system that could absorb this scale, maintain high-speed delivery, and ensure consistent quality while keeping the process simple and efficient.
Results
After just one year collaboration, Athlon’s Creative Production Hub has worked on over 15 global campaigns, created master templates and localised marketing materials for 20+ markets, created automation tools to reduce human error such as plugins & scripts, optimised flow charts & internal documents for clear organisation between teams, and maintained high levels of communication between key stakeholders.
The established trust and workflow allows for future business expansion and supports the needs of new market launches.
Context
Even strong teams face natural operational challenges at high scale. Centralized workflows require coordination across multiple touchpoints. Even highly competent teams are challenged when managing thousands of assets in multiple languages for different campaigns and markets.
We realized the constraint wasn’t creativity. It was architecture. Storytel didn’t need just another vendor, they needed an extension of their team capable of building a system that could absorb volume and complexity without breaking.
Our approach
Our philosophy is simple: Flow beats headcount. We don’t just deploy manpower, we design systems.
We proposed a Creative Production Hub built around three pillars:
Ongoing partnership
The Creative Hub is now fully integrated, supporting local markets and managing the entire ordering pipeline. Future plans include further process standardization, advanced Design Systems, and continuous tooling exploration.
For companies aiming to scale in e-commerce, telco, publishing, and airlines, the Storytel case shows that talent is plentiful, but creative flow is what drives true growth. We transformed a complex operational challenge into a core competitive advantage by applying the Athlon blueprint and treating every process as an architectural design problem.
